Weather:

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening.

Southerly winds at 30 to 40 mph with higher gusts to 50 mph will
continue across the advisory area through the remainder of the
afternoon. In addition… blowing dirt and dust has been observed
across much of the advisory area and will likely continue through
early evening. Winds will slowly subside during the evening across
the region.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult… especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

We had a slight winter storm last night, and I woke up to see this out of my living room window:

We haven’t had much snow this winter. This is probably only the second or third time the shovels have come out!

My Dad and I went to the town of Stillwater, Minnesota on the St. Croix River. Just across the river is Wisconsin. It’s a cute little town: lots of antique shops, ice cream parlors, etc. Kinda dead on a holiday in January after a snow, but still fun.

This September has been a mix of cool rainy days and gorgeous sunny ones. Last Sunday I got these shots while on a walk with Gayle:

My parents’ garden is still going strong. There’s still raspberries! And one lone clematis.

Thursday night was gorgeous. It was warm but breezy. Just about perfect.

I drove out to Gayle’s place, and since I was early I stopped at a roadside lake (I believe it’s called Parker’s Lake).

There were people fishing and boating, walking and jogging. And that lakey smell (Curiously the same smell as the water out of my pipes in my apartment–mom says St. Paul water is drawn from lakes). I saw a red-winged blackbird.

Then after I got my cat fix at Gayle’s…meet Esmeralda:

…we were off to watch her nephew Zach’s soccer game. He did really well and no goals scored on him whilst he was goalie (I just like that word “whilst”).

It was cute to see all the 6- or 7-year-olds playing.
